Test Results

If your GP has sent you for a blood test, x-ray,ultrasound scan or MRI / CT scan, you will need to telephone the surgery Monday to Friday between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm for the result.

They usually take the following length of time to reach the surgery:

• Blood test - 1 week (though some may take longer)
• X-ray - 2 to 3 weeks
• Ultrasound scan - 2 to 3 weeks
• MRI / CT scsn - 3 weeks

Any test requested by the hospital will go back to the Hospital Consultant. Please contact the relevant hospital secretery for the results.

In line with patient confidentiality, results will only be given directly to the patient.

Carers and relatives must obtain consent from the patient giving authorisation to release information. 

To avoid refusal please ensure that we have already received authorisation.
