Repeat Prescriptions
If you are on long term medication you may obtain a repeat prescription by written request or by using the repeat prescription re-order form attached to your prescription.
You can submit your request by hand, post, My Health Online or via your chosen pharmacy.
Please allow 48 hours for processing and checking via a doctor before a repeat prescription can be issued. This means 2 working days and it excludes weekends and Bank Holidays.
If you request a medicine which is not on your repeat prescription, a hand written explanation detailing reasons of your request is required. It can take longer than 48 hours for these prescriptions to be issued as this has to be checked by a health care professional to ascertain if the request is appropriate. You may be contacted by a member of the practice team with advice.
As per advice of Hywel Dda Health Board, medicines like paracetamol, ibuprofen, cold sores cream, anti-allergy tablets or anti-histamine tablets for hay fever, thrush medications and ear drops for wax are available over the counter by the local pharmacy. The Hywel Dda Health Board encourages patients to purchase these items if required. Emergency contraception can be obtained free of charge from some local pharmacies.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
